Hey, i got a question... The mustang which i may buy is salvaged. its a 95 mustang gt w/ 31k miles on it, i was going to be buying it for $4k. everything was repaired and its my dad's bestfriend's car. so i know the history of the car and all and that it was done by a professional. But anyway, im wondering the engine is a little rusty, im thinking maybe its because it was sitting outside threw a few michigan winters with a bent up hood. Before buying i want to make sure it is the original engine that came in the car. Any way that i can check by serial number? I'm also going to do a compression check, but i know that may not be all that accurate. When doing the compression check any idea what the results should read?

the QUICKEST way to see if it is original mileage, go on CARFAX.COM.

Theres no EASY way to check if it is the ORIGINAL engine.

Wheres is it rusty? ALL of the 5.0's I have ever encountered(unless painted) were RUSTY by the 5.0 plate and the block was 100% rusty.

I don't think the blocks are numbered, so you probably can't find out if it's original.

Does it matter..... if it runs good??? I wouldn't care if it were me. Just as long as it was fast!
