hey guys,

I currently have the pypes orh and pypes violator axle backs. It sounds good at idle and low cruising, but at WOT the sounds getting old. Goes from great to crap real quick. Is there any other catback/axleback that would add some quietness to the car?? Thanks guys

Weird. I love the sound of my o/r H/Violator combo all the way up to redline. You could have resonators welded in by an exhaust shop. If you still have your stock axlebacks, you could throw those back on. They're quieter. If you like the sound, then go to the muffler shop and have them put some better tips on them.

Almost any aftermarket muffler will be louder than stock.

I have MAC's on my 94 GT and sound better than the Flowmaster's I had IMHO.

I have heard a few newer 'Stangs at the dealership I work at, and it seemed the one's with a Magnaflow exhaust sounded the best.

I assume you want to keep your o/r H, then something like a "3 chamber" muffler should make it louder than stock, but not too loud.

What about the pypes midmuffler setup would pushing the muffler further back clean up the sound/tone and loudness? any insight??

Put the stock mufflers back on. They sound great with the ORH,

Magnapacks or the Bassani Race Axle backs. Those are the 2 best sounding axle backs that I've heard and I would highly recommend them. Quiet at cruise and a nice some-what loud tone at WOT.

For reference, I went from the violators to the bassani's because I thought the violators were too loud, also.

So you like the race mufflers? I would think theyd be as loud as the violators. Do you have it matched up with an h or x? I really like the sound of the magnapacks with the offroad h but i was worried it would be equally as loud too. Though the race mufflers are 100 cheaper... hmm

The bassani's are a whole lot quieter than the violators. All of my friends told me that it sound 100x better, too. I also have it matched to an off-road H pipe but tomorrow (monday) it will be matched to an off-road x pipe and long tubes. I'll get some video for you when it's on the dyno being tuned.

My friend has the magnapacks. He had an offroad x and the long tubes (i'm actually putting on his lt's and x since he went turbo) and it was quiet as anything at cruise and not too loud, but GREAT sound, at WOT.

Honestly, you can't go wrong with either choice. I went w/ the bassani because they were cheaper and they sound as close to that 4v 03 cobra sound that you can get hehe
