This is my exhaust setup: JBA Stainless Shorties, Hollowed-out Oem Ford H-pipe, Flowmaster 3-chamber stainless Delta 2.5" Mufflers, 2.5" Stainless tipped Flowmaster pipes.

Question:
The drone & resonance of these mufflers at around 2k rpm is driving me nuts!
Is there a quieter set of muffler that anyone has used, that has low back pressure? 15 years ago, on my 1st ('88) 5.0, I had a pair of Walker Turbos that sounded pretty good. I guess I'm looking for a deep and mellow sound without the resonance.

Bassani Quiet Thunder. There's two ways you can run them: with or without the tail pipe inserts. Nice deep agressive sound with little or drone at all. I've not had the inserts in since I got the system but if you end up wanting to tone it down even more just pop em in. It's one of those exhaust systems that minds it's manners till you hit WOT throttle then let's you know (and all around you) that it's time to get up and go.

DynoMax Super Turbos flow well and are cheap. They are REAL quiet though, you might want to find someone who has them and give them a listen. I think I bought the whole cat back from Jegs for like $225 a few years ago

See http://www.steeda.com/store/-catalog/sleepermuffler.htm For a stainless steel "sleeper muffler" that supposedly doesn't drone. Expensive at $140 each, but take 10% off with the ad in Stagnet's forum main page

you've got your h pipe hollowed out.

put on a good catted h pipe, and those three chamber flows should quiet up quite a bit.

I have a MAC cat H pipe & 3 chamber flows and the drone is still loud enough to make me want quieter mufflers. I have to turn the radio/tape player volume way up just to hear the music.

i have hooker aerochambers and they have a flowmaster tone too them...the drone really isnt that bad i had the force 2 catback on my car with the 3 chamber flows before the hookers and i think at idle and normal driving the hookers are quieter, but when i stomp it it gets pretty damn loud...but it still has a little different than 2 chamber flows it helps a lot havin tailpipes too....its really not that loud in the car, when i first got the hookers put on i was dissappointed until i had a friend drive my car away from me and realized how good it sounds

I just put superturbos on and love them. I was droned out with my flowmasters. The superturbos sound good especially at WOT but mellow down for normal driving. I can hear my stereo and talk on my phone now.
