dynomax ultra-flo's are pretty quiet, so are magnaflows
I have a complete magnaflow system on my car and although it's quite at idle and cruise, it's still pretty loud under moderate and full throttle acceleration. Borla XL mufflers are probably about the quietest you're going to find.
Not a Mustang, but keep in mind this is through 3-mufflers and two high flow cats. A little tough to hear over the blower when you're in front of the car, but you get the idea at idle in the fist video and after half track in the second.Do you have any sound clips of your magna flows? Do you know where I can find some clips of the borla?

Well with a o/r h pipe, nothing is going to be really really quiet.
Dyno max SUPER TURBO is not on the list. They are MUCH quieter than ultra. They are THE QUIETEST and you keep your HP.

I used to have the Borla XR-1's on my cobra and with an offroad x-pipe you had to get the car over 3500 RPM's to actually hear the car. They got a lil louder when I added the prochamber, but still very quiet none the less. I sold my set of them a few years back. Seems weird I went from that quiet system to now having the prochamber still and adding SLP Loudmouth I system which is now hacked into turndowns and the car literally wakes up the entire neighborhood.
I don't understand why you want to limit yourself to keeping the current midpipe. Why not just get some high flow cats? That will quiet it up nicely and cost about the same as a new cat-back setup.
I think a 1993 Escort station wagon would be quieter on the exhaust end of things ;-) It's actually a great little car...
But seriously +1 on the high flow cats. You could even have some welded in to your current setup, which is a cheap option if you can weld or know someone who can. Pypes sells them individually as do others I'm sure w/the correct inlet/outlet diameters.
