Raced an 00 Gt last night

Last night on my way home from my gf's house my car's check engine light kept coming on and off and my car wasn't running very good. Well i got about a mile away from my house and a 00 gt pulled up next to me. He looked over and smiled at me and i knew it was on. However his gf slid way down in the seat and wouldn't look up lol. We took off from the light and i got a jump on him and i beat him. I drove a few extra miles and everytime his gf would lift her head up i would slam on the gas again and me and him both just kept laughing. But H/o my car still didnt feel like it was running right at all. My mods are in my sig. His mods were flows/catback hpipe and underdrive pulleys.

Now when i want to take my car to autozone to have them put it on the computer it's running fine

I raced a friends 00 vert 5 speed and I killed him every time we raced. He sucked ass at driving but when he let me drive it I was not impressed at all with the power they are supposed to make . That was with just my h pipe and 3.73's only, I have raced a few new gt's and have won either they have all sucked at driving or they are not as fast as they say they are.

Thats weird. Every 00 GT I've seen has been pretty impressive powerwise, even the AODEs. My friend just got a 2003 w/ 5spd, threw in a catback, chip, and some nittos and he was chirpin like there was no tomorrow. I had absolutely nothing for him. My other friend had a 2000 GT w/AODE completely stock and I could just about keep up but he still had me. You must be racing some people that just really dont know how to race ESPECIALLY if you say your car is running like crap with the check engine lights coming on. These are not slow cars by any means when compared to ours (mod for mod). They can run mid to high 13's in completely stock trim with the right driver.

yea, im with him on that one... The 99+4.6's are faster then the 99+ 4.6's mod for mod, so dont count them all out..

I ran 14.6's@97 (2.3-2.4 60') all night, in my stock 01 Automatic, and im not the best at the track

I would think your 94 would be in the 14.5-14.6 range
the 96 in the 14.9-15.3 range

It doesn't matter which car he was driving...a properly driven 99+ GT would win every time...

A friend of mine ran a 14.1 with his 99 GT (AODE)...bone stock...

Damn...

I made a sweet pass of 14.1@100mph with an offroad h pipe and CAI, as well as a superchips chip(basically did nothing, lol), and STOCK GOODYEARS! In my old 2002 AUTOMATIC GT, with 1/4 tank of gas and fully loaded.

I have seen the 99+ run really fast times. I saw a stock 01' bullit run a 13.9 on Nitto 555R drags.

13.9 is peanuts.. I seen them go 13.7 at the track and have a couple friends that actually mustered those times. They just added a shifter and removed air silencer... dont remember if they kept the filter in or not tho.

One time I raced a 96-98GT when I just got my car (bone stock.) His car sounded great, I don't know if he had any mods or not. But I barely beat him, but I am sure he felt like a$$. Being I still had the paper tag in the window

that was not what i was trying to say at all.

the point was that dollar for dollar, i believe that the 5.0 platform has more potential, and i imagine you think the same thing, which is why you bought a 5.0 and not a bullit.

Sorry guys i was gone all weekend cuz of my gf's graduation. I was driving the 94 mustang. My brother owns the 96 but i pretty much do whatever i want iwth it. Yeah i am with you guys 100 percent. I am quite shocked that i beat him. Alot of people around here own all these camaros and mustang and sports cars and they think they are hot stuff. But the funny part is that most of them can't drive their car. I'm not saying that i'm the best driver but i do admit that i am pretty good but i do make mistakes. I just want my car to stop acting weird

Does the check light keep coming on after you shift? I use to have the same problems. For some reason the shift kit or AODE had something to do with it. I ended up getting really low on tanny fluid so I flushed it and I never had the problem again.
