Ok from what I have read on here my 67 coupe did not come stock with power rack and pinnion. Now the hard part how due I identify it so I can rebuild it. It is leaking like no other (a quart a week) it is a rear loader(mounted behind the center point of the front wheels) I'll try to post a pic tommorrow just want to fix this really bad. as the stang is now my daily driver while I restore my VW.
I was in love with mustangs before I could drive and had to settle with a Bronco (hey it still has that blue oval up front) Then I got a wierd itch to buy a beetle and have been stuck on mustangs and bugs ever since and plus the bug gets 29mpg and still has a crap load of power out of a 2.1 liter stroker

Yes, for sure your car did not come stock with rack and pinion steering. Post a pic or two. Are you sure it needs a rebuild? There are lots of ways to leak that don't require a rebuild. Clean all of the fluid off, run it around the block, and see where the leak is coming from.

Hi kubelvag,

This may not be a quick fix but is probably your best solution long term.

A great steering and suspension upgrade for our early Fords.

Cheers.
