Hey guys and girls,

Just put a new water pump on my mustang along with underdrive pulleys. Any idea what would cause the upper and lower radiator hoses to "suck in" almost as if they were trying to collapse?? Car is staying within normal limits in terms of temp, but when i feel the upper hose, I dont feel any fluid going through it. Any ideas???

Tstat stuck closed or installed backwards, causing no flow and pump is trying to pull....

^^^^sounds like your culprit. Could be they need replacing also

yeah its probably the thermostat if it does it while running.

if it does it after its shut off and cooling down, its the rad cap not pulling water back out of the resevior. but you did mean while running right?

You guys were right on, just popped it out and it had got frozen somehow ( i guess by sitting a few weeks dry). All is good now, thanks for the help guys.
