Radio Combo MP3/GPS

I have and love an Eclipse AVN-7000. Does everything you're looking for and more, the only drawback is that it is a single din unit, so you would need a dash kit to get it to fit properly. This is a high end unit and not cheap, but well worth it if you're an audiophile like me. However they do offer this unit with the same eclipse quality and similar features as the avn but it should fit you're dash without a kit. Check it out!!! flip-out ftmfl. Double din still needs a kit though. There is about 1/4 inch on either side that gets filled in with the kit and it is used to bolt the unit to the dash. Double din or go home. Flip out in a mustant just doen't look right. And can get in the way of taller shifters as well.

My '99 has the two single din openings and I didn't see any sense in hacking apart the dash of a perfectly good Cobra to accomidate a double din when I could get the same screen size in a single.

Does it work well with the stock Mach 460 amps and speakers?

I'm looking into the AVIC-D3 as well. I just want something plug and play though rather than redo my entire system.

What does it have for security features?

It will work with the Mach stuff. The right harness has to be aquired for it. It has to be the harness that will switch on the rear amps. That was the big problem back in the day. I did eventaully end up getting rid of the Mach speakers. They just sound so horriable. Just my personal opinion though.

Um... security... Well some guys have picked up a stock double din radio out of a junk yard, removed the face plate of it, expoxied the old buttons and just slipped the face plate on at least to deter theives looking for an easy target. But there are no security features on the deck itself. Most of the double dins don't have anything like that though.

The Eclipses have a "key" CD or memory stick. Basically that means you program your "key" disk or stick and if someone disconnects power (to steal it) it locks up and is useless. Only you with your "key" can unlock it. Any thief worth his salt knows about this feature, consequently it's a huge theft deterent. The single din (AVN 7000) also has a removable faceplate but I am not sure about the double. Just something to look at.:nice:
