04 mach1000 radio help please

Hello, im new here. Currently doing a full restoration of a 2004 50th year edition. So i need help finding a fix for the mach 1000 radio. I can never find it anywhere. The last 2 places I found I bought them. Im Currently on my 3rd radio in 8yrs.
The issue (turn knob increases volume in both directions) meaning in cant lower the volume. This has happened in all 3 that I have. The other thing about this is the fact I drive it less than 1K miles a year and use the radio maybe 20% of the time I drive the car. Since im fully restoring it now plus Dyno matting the entire vehicle, new shocks, brakes, entire underside basically. I'd like to get this radio fixed or replaced.

I had good luck just turning the radio off/car off then just rapidly spinning the volume knob one direction for about two minutes, then the other direction for about two minutes. Did that a month ago and the volume knob appears to be fixed.

The explanation I saw was that corrosion builds up on the contacts over time, and spinning knob around helps clean that up.

Hope this helps!
