radio problem

i have a 2003 gt with a vortec blower. does any one know why when i turn my radio on there is a winding sound on the background, and when i turn it off(radio) it takes a couple of seconds and then the winding turns off. can anyone tell me whats going on

Sounds like you've got some sort of electrical interference. Is it the stock stereo system, or some sort of aftermarket unit?

Its engine whine... Usually does it because of a bad ground to the stereo. Can happen also when pos and neg wires are parallel and in close proximity to each other.

I had the same thing happen to my 03GT, Mach460 the other day but it went away for now..

I think you still hear it after you turn your car off because it takes a few seconds for the twin AMPS to power down.
