they are not too bad. I had him off the line then when I ramed for 3rd gear I missed he passed me but that was all he could do. from like 80Km's -130Km's it was prety even.he was shocked how quick mine was off the line. I said I spun the top half of first and all through 2nd and I missed 3rd.....

I was having 2nd thought on this MGW I never misses so many times before. Maby my foot is faster than my hand I dunno but it just sux when you but a shifter that has a guarantee against missing shifts especially the 2nd to 3rd shift.

Don't ever believe that a shifter can prevent you from missing a gear when it's your hand that's moving the arm...no offense intended...i miss 3rd now and then, i think everyone does.

I know I know lol

I think my leg is trying to shift faster than my arm is...and since I jot the shifter it's probly in my head that I can shift 100X faster than I could with the stock shifter. But I don't get any quicker shifts really just shorter crisper shifts..

this was a friend of mine... I talked to him again maby 1 hour after I made this post abd he told me I pulled a full lenght on him right off the line and pulled a little more once I hit second. Then he thought I let off but I told him that is when I missed 3rd. I spun 1st 2nd and missed 3rd. then he got in front of me and I stayed with him like we were glued togeather till 130Km's.

they weigh 2490 lb's and have 320ish HP and 330ish TQ so I thought for a almost stock 19 year old mustang I did good to do that. He was surprised he said

I have to retrain your self with a short throw shifter. With the centering spring on the shifter all you should have to do is push forward from second and it will hit third no problem.

You may be having the same problem alot of people have at first and that is in your head you are still going threw the motion of up and over. When the over motion is already taken care of by the spring.

So next time you are runnin and going to shift to second just tell your self (push up only) I my self dont even grab the shifter handle to go to third all I do is slap it with my palm. try that work for me.

71swing....that could be the problem. I only seem to have a hard time when I am squeezing the knob waiting for the next gear...I have had good luck just pushing it into 3rd

So they weight about 3500lbs and they are making 303hp and 323tq. Now i dont believe that those cars are LS series motors are they? That 5.3L is a variant of the truck motor correct? If so they shouldn't be too hard to dispose of. Did you run an automatic or a stick car? Did he spin off the line...i can only imagine 320 ft lbs going through a front wheel drive system!!

ill advised

Yep, I believe they are LS4s? Which are in fact used in GM trucks.
