drove my car around last night, everything was fine on it, went outside this afternoon to start it up and drive over to my moms house, started very well, everything was good .. then all of a sudden the idle dropped to like 700 which was pretty strange, i gave it some gas to bump the idle up and there was no response. seemed that every time i gave it gas the idle would drop. kind of sounded like there was a hole in the motor so i looked under the car for oil but there was none, checked my oil psi gauge and it was exactly where it should be, didnt drop or fluctuate or anything. look around the car and made sure everything was plugged in and it was, timing was at 10deg all sensors plugged in, all plug wires on the plugs, seemed that everything was the way that it was the night before, except it just wouldn't want to work. i shut it off and let it sit for a few and then tried it again, gave it some gas and the same problem, it just dropped the idle, and that was from tapping the gas, decided to give it some more gas and it dropped even farther. looked at the breather cap for 'milky oil' to see if somehow a head gasket blew and it was fine, same way it looked last night. anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?

it has heads cam intake vortech v1 sc ignition system etc, all the goodies you know.. any advice would help. i really dont feel like taking apart the motor to check out the pistons, and i really dont wanan drop the pan and take the crank out to see if the rods are a-ok..

Start with the basics. Run the codes, clean your MAF/IAT, check the fuel pressure, hook up a vacuum gauge, yank the spark plugs and examine color/shape, check your wires/cap/rotor for buildup/excessive wear.

Sounds like an odd problem. But either your a/f ratio is really off, or your ignition timing is way off. Perform the above checks and we can go from there.
