Its metal and has 2 holes and says "Back bottom" on the back of it will post pics when i get home... its a ring shape.... about 1/4'' think metal big hole in the center of it...

think it goes on the end of the cam... which i took out of one of the blocks sitting around... if the engine that i put in my car was a short block one should of been on it already correct?

it goes between the cam and cam gear. it keeps the cam from walking out of the block.
theres should be one in your motor. whether someone forgot to put one in there, who knows...
