hey guys, i recent bought an 0 gt and sometimes when i start it it gives off a weird squeak from the motor... any ideas on this maybe a bearing? but it doesn't do it all the time usually when im not driving.

thanks

well i checked the belt and it is fine, but this was after i drove it home from work. and more and more i began to notice the squeal was only when i had my foot on the clutch.... throwout bearing?

well, originally i thought it was comming from the motor but now i think it is coming from the trans/ clutch because it only squeels occasionally and always when im on the clutch. even the slightest pressure on the clutch makes it squeel and when i let off it goes away. but it does not do it every single time it engage the clutch.

any help is greatly appreciated as i just bought the car yesterday and it figures.... it doesn't squeel untill i get it home.

well it is most definitely coming when i apply pressure to the clutch.... how do i go about adjusting the toe? and also while i was at it i noticed that my belt is pretty cracked anyways so where would be the best place for me to get a gatorback? or whatever would be best

thanks

My car is 2001 Gt and it is having the same symptoms as yours. It makes a noise when I depress the clutch. As soon as I let off it goes away. Mine seems to go away, around the time the temp is up to operating range.

You can adjust the clutch by ordering a Quadrant and firewall adjuster, but toeplay is normal and should be there. So adjusting the clutch will not make your noise go away. You need a new TOB. Here are some clutch kits on Summit.
