Rate your Rockers. I need recomendations.

I need a new set of RR's. I had CraneCams 1.7 Roller Rockers, the same as the Cobra, on the B cam. I sold them with the B cam because I wanted a different cam with the new motor and wated to go 1.6. So, what rockers are you running and how do you like them?

Ford Racing 1.6's. Their grrrrrrrrrrreat! Over 3 years and no issues. Got them for $199 back then.

I got crane cams 1.6 pesestals for $210 last year. Only 2500 miles on them but no problems. They are the same thing as the FRPP's, made by crane. I think I'm going to get some Harland Sharps for my AFR 165's, they're only $195.

Lunati aluminum adjustable rollers. No issues all the way up to 6800. 1.6 ratio. They were on the car when I got it, so dont know how much they were.

harland sharp 1.6's are really sweet. had no problems taking them over 7000 rpm. i would use them over again on the next motor

If you want NICE RR's then get the Comp Cams Pro Magnum. Chromoly steel, lighter at the valve than aluminum rockers, and WAY stronger.

Those I am looking at the most. I've read in MMFF that they are really good and have heard other places that they are the next best thing to shaft mount. They are nice, but thier price is really good if you ask me.
What do I have to do to run stud mounts on E7?
- I see there are two stud sizes. What benifits to the 7/16ths to the 3/8ths. I know the 7/16ths would be stronger but is it nessasary?

Scorpions $200, nice alum rocker that is very strong, now problem with a big heavy spring.

I can't remember if you still have the ped heads or you are upgrading to a new set. If you are getting new heads, rockers, and stud girdles you may want to think about going to a set of Probe shaft mounts, the extra cost is minimal. PM me if your interest I'll save you some money

Ford Racing 1.72's in my lincoln for 2 years and a lot of 6000+RPM no issues, had generic 1.6's in my mustang for 2k miles and they wore out and were about to fall apart so I threw some 1.72's in and its all better, my buddy with a 91 LX runs 1.72's and another buddy with a 95 GT runs 1.72's, shifts it at 7300 all the time for 3 years now. I also did a 5.0 swap in a ranger and we went with F cam and Ford Racing 1.6RR's. I put all of em in, its easy as hell and they dont break or wear out even with extreme abuse. If you have stock heads, just use ford racing pedastal mount rockers and you wont have any issues.

ive had 1.7 crane's and 1.6 fms. both have been good rockers for me.

off topic kind of, i had to drill a stripped rocker bolt out and hit my rocker in a few small spots. it basically just took the blue anodizing off, now the rocker has a slight stick to it. it will freespin under its own weight, but ocassionally it has a small stick. its a light resistance, but is this still ok?

i cleaned it multiple times, and oiled it a few times and spun it by hand for around 20 minutes. just curious

no i never hit the bearing. only the inner area when the dremel slipped off the edge of the bolt. its a really small resistance, more like a little stick. if i had to put a guess on the resistance, its less then one pound so im pretty positive nothing could happen.

just figured i would ask while there was an rr post.

I agree, Scorpions are excellent rockers and yet cheap compared to most.

I've run the crane, scorpion, and now the comp pro-magnums. Never had any issues with any of them, but.......the pro-magnums are the quitest rockers i've ever run

the guy at summit told me that the pro-mags were different than stock and i would have to buy another kit to make them work.
