Re-Flash of Chips for Speedo?

Are you talking about the stock ECU or an aftermarket chip? I know dealers have the ability to reflash stock ECU's, mine was reflashed twice when they were trying to fix my rough idle problem. As for an aftermarket chip, I wouldnt advise that at all. For both, stock ECU and aftermarket ECU, they will charge an arm and a leg to do it, plus probably void your warrenty to boot :D.

Does anyone know if you can have your ECU chip re-flashed at a dealership in order to compensate for a gear change, to make the speedometer read correctly?

why not just ship it overnight to tim (cobrakiller) & have him re-flash it for you. that way the dealer is none the wiser  that's what i'm doing as soon as i get mine put in :D

The dealer I went to said that they couldn't do it.The only option for my GT was a 3.27 gear and that is all the computer would let it do.I bought a hypertech programmer to correct my speedo. The cheaper route is a speed cal from steeda or elsewhere.

Who is Cobrakiller and can he re-flash a stock chip to for 4.10 gears? If so how can I get into contact with him?

No ones actually answered the question :D

Is it POSSIBLE with a dealer reflash to compensate for gears? My friends dad is a manager at a dealership, so I could get it done off the record, probably for free.. just wanna know if it's possible.

I talked to a guy at our local dealership and he said that it may be possible on some cars, but he will have to look at the car to see. I'm not sure if will do it off the record. The gear is going in next weekend so I will have to wait and see.

I called a guy @ the shop that installed my Superchip & he said retuning the chip won't fix the speedometer & that I should take it to a Ford dealer after gear install, pay them an hour labor, & have them change something in the cluster. He didn't say what it was but he said that'd adjust the speedo.
