Hey everyone,

I was re-doing my exterior trim on my mustang and came to some plastic chrome trim that goes around the headlights. Does anyone know to prepare and re-paint the plastic pieces chrome so they look pretty nice? I would like to keep them chrome and not paint them black.

Keeping on the plastic topic, I was looking to re-paint my interior (of which is plastic) in the near future and was wondering if anyone knew of a method of preparing the surface, painting it, and what type of paint I should get to give the interior a good look with a durable finish.

Thanks

You can't paint chrome and still have it look like chrome, unfortunately. Even the spray paint that claims to look like chrome just comes out silver.

As for the other parts...your best bet is to use a paint made for vinyl and plastic (sold at auto parts stores) but it comes in limited colors.

Otherwise, you would want to clean it very well, apply an adhesion promoter, and then use whatever paint you would like.
