I just picked up a actron code scanner (CP9015) and was trying to perform an KOEO test (Key on Engine off). I plugged my EEC test plug into my scanner set the HOLD/TEST button to HOLD reached into the passanger side of the car and turned my key to the "ON" position my injectors and fuel pump all kicked on like normal then I went to the scanner and switched the button to TEST. My Injectors seemed to do the same thing as the car does when you key on. But I get nothing the Scanner just sits their and does nothing. Any Idea's what I am missing here? I did not Start the car and run it before trying the Key On Engine Off test did not think that was nec. But let me know I never have tried to pull codes out the computer. thanks everyone.

Sounds like you are using the correct port. Passenger side strut tower location. Is that correct? There are two connections IIRC, multi pin and a single pin. Initially the scanner does a diagnostic scan, the rad fan will cycle on and off and you will hear other other relays click on and off. From that point you follow the instructions for the various tests. Don't have a stock ECU anymore but that's what I recall. After all is done you scan for the read codes.

Yup right by the strut tower has a spot labeled EEC Test which has the 2 connectors their I plugged them which fit perfectly in my scanner. Key On is when you turn the key forward and stop before you would turn to start correct? Because I get no codes for some reason.

i dont have the same reader as you.try checking the reader operating manuel again.

with my reader i have to start the car and bring it to operating temp first.
shut off car.
connect reader to test port (reader off).
turn key to ON position.
press ON button on the reader.
press the TEST/HOLD button the reader.

you will hear fuel pump turn on and the cooling fan turn on,followed by whatever code's that may be stored.

hope this help's alittle.

Thanks

Finally got my KOEO codes which returned (111) or all good from that. For some reason it works if I have the audio set to ON and the scanner set to TEST right when I turn the Key to ON which then works. Thanks for the help guys now to test and find out why my check engine light keeps flashing and my idle rpms goes up to about 2500 rpm when the cars been running for about 2 minutes
