ive been researching these alot and im not worried about the $50 difference in price.

but what would you use if you had..
2002 mustang gt with Auto trans and boltons.
looking to add more bolt-ons, gears, etc. in the future.

<supercharger maybe/eventually but would end up getting a different tuner by then>

please tell me which one to get out of SCT 2 and the diablo predator.

i was going to go with the predator but ive noticed some sites like mustangtuning.com are sending the latest tune with the SCT.

thanks-

If you don't care about the price difference then either of them are fine lol. I had a predator, it was great. I have an Xcal 2 now and it seems great (just flashed, haven't driven the car yet). The Xcal 2 has a few more options, and you can edit the tunes on your PC with SCT's free software, instead of having to deal with the lil buttons and screen of a tuner. Also it has analog datalogging inputs, which is nice for A/F gauges etc.

Also keep in mind what your local tuners use; SCT or DiabloSport.

Personally I would with the Xcal 2 for the added features...and that mine came with my Mongoose kit

if you want something to get you buy until you supercharge buy a used predator.

If you want something that has the most cabability get the xcal 2.

the predator is nice for resale becuse it is not linked to a computer code. if you bought from a place like MPH though you may be able to buy the xcal 2 and then get a discount on a mongoose kit down the road becasue you don't need the xcal with it.

You said "auto". Automatically, that means the Xcal2 is your better choice. It will let you adjust part throttle shift points and torque converter lock/unlock schedules.

Everything else is about the same other than the Predator having a better on-device user interface and the Xcal2 can hook up to a laptop for live datalogging.

SCT just got the datalogging to work recently. It's been buggy but it works now (for most cases).

I know. I need to. I have to add a page for the 3000 stall converter, the SCT Xcalibrator and the Mickey Thompson ET Streets. I'm slacking!!!

SCT Xcal and Diablosport Predator save your factory tune before it installs its tune. You should re-install your factory tune whenever you bring your car into Ford for service, as a precaution.

I wish you guys would post reasons why and not just cheer for a brand name. If you feel strongly towards a specific brand, tell us why. It will be more useful to those who are still trying to decide.
