It goes down at idle because the alternator isn't turning as fast. That's normal.

I'm wondering if maybe it's a bad fuel pump. Once it heats up it doesn't seem to be flowing.

Just a thought.

Fuel pump has less than 500 miles on it. I had bought it new from Summit. When I first put the motor in I still had the stock pump hooked up. It ran the same as it does now.

What kind of fuel pump is it? I had a brand new walbro gss342 fuel pump that died in less than 50 miles in my 98 Cobra. (they kill walbro pumps.)

Also, now that I think about it have you checked all your intake track connections? If you're getting unmetered air anywhere into the system it could cause the same symptoms you're seeing now.

It'll cause the car to buck and sputter if it's enough air.

In my buddy's 99 GT he's got a crossover tube that pulls itself out all the time. The car runs like crap when the tube pulls out and sucks air into the system north of the maf.

Just thinking out loud,
Alan

The fuel pump is a BBK 255. I've check all vac hoses and all checked out good. I believe I have narrowed it down to an electical problem somewhere. I could put a stop watch on and and start it when the car starts and stop it when the car acts up. It would be the same time every time. So something is telling the computer to cut out the same time every time. Just wish the car was like Kit from Night Rider and could tell me whats wrong...LOL

Hate to be a downer on this thread....but i had the same problem for 2 years. Then it progressed into when i slammed gears it would die. So I'm in the middle of my carbed swap.

No cats. I have BBK longtubes shorty offroad h-pipe and Mac produmps.
I am debating wether or not to carb. If I can't fix this I will probally have no choice. Sucks but I guess I have no choice.

I know it's an electrical problem because it happens at the same time. I just can't figure it out. Once you kill the power to it and restart it, it is fine until it acts up again. Or if you let it run it's course it will staying running fine until you power the car off.
I still have stock ignition and was thinking if I upgrade to MSD distributer, MSD 6AL and MSD coil this could fix the problem but I can't see that happening.

With the motor in my signature what would be a good carb and intake setup? Its not mentioned in my signature but I have 8.5/1 compression ratio.
