Okay guys i realy need help on this one, I planed on buying a new 306 but money is getting tighter and tighter so im thinking of using the 302 in my car now but here comes the hard part the motor has about 90k runs like a dream but about 2 months ago i did a show off burnout and had the rpms a little to high and when i was done it started overheating so i asumed that it was the the head gasket and got mad and drove it home and didnt stop every once to put some water in (very stupid) so the motor got so so hot that it would shut off and my dumb ass would just keep starting it well it turned out to be the freez plug in the back of the head i found this out while changing head gaskets, Sorry for the book here i just want to know if in my situation should i even attempt to mod this motor do you think the rings are shot the motor ran fine after i fixed everthing im just worried about getting this all done and 2 days latter it take a **** on me.
well i would love to get inpoot from you guys on this you's always help with my Q's thanx in advance.

I did almost the exact same thing. Blew a heater hose and tried to drive home. Car ended up shutting down on me and when I popped the hood I had coolant boiling from around the heads. Replaced the head gaskets, vacuumed coolant out of the cylinders, and put it all back together. She ran fine after that. I think you should be okay. Gotta love a iron block.
