What is the name of the small arm just next to the rear tires?

No, it's a small one connects to the top axle tube to the rear of the frame, just in front of the shock.

Closer to the tire, not the center of the axle. Not the upper or lower control arm.

It connects to the top of the axle tube next to the dust shield/backing plate of the drum and points towards the rear of the car and connects to the frame next to the gas tank. Between the shock and the tire.

Starting to think it may not be factory. Looks like it is though. I will have to take a picture I guess

It is just a dampner or stabilizer. I trashed mine. Drag car though. Not sure of name.

That's the quad shock....or otherwise known as axle dampener

Why? Unless you have tire clearance probs, there is no reason to ditch them. They are there to control wheel hop and even cars with aftermarket arms suffer from wheel hops without them (such as mine).

If you want, take them off...but hang onto them. If you find you have wheel hop...toss em back on

Thanks.

Yes, it's a clearance issue and I'm trying to avoid a spacer. If I find I have hop, though I shouldn't with this suspension I'll go with a spacer.

If it's a clearance issue, you can turn them around (turn the skinny part towards the rear) and maybe gain enough clearance.
