Hey everyone I would like to know if every 8.8" Ford rearend have the same mounting points. I would like to go buy a used rearend from the junkyard and build it up with new 31 spline axles and an Auburn or some sort of posi-lock or whatever it's called(if anyone can point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it) and I can't just buy the parts and put them in my stock axle b/c my car is daily driven and I don't have a lot of time to do everything I need to do. I would like to take my time building the new rearend and do it right with all the parts I want including 4:10 gears or maybe 3:73s b/c I want to put forced induction on my GT in the next year or so once I redo my fuel system. One of the local junkyards have a complete 8.8" Ford rearend out of a 1985 Ford F-150. Will this fit my car? Just the housing, since I am planning on redoing the whole insides? Thanks for the help in advance i'm sure somebody on here knows,this site is awesome.

No they don't. And all Mustang rears don't mount the same either. Not sure what the years are that changed but I believe all 79-93 are the same and then it goes 94-98 and 99-04 are the same. I've got a used 8.8 out of a 2003 GT for sale. I'm sure I could ship it to you fairly cheap. I just swapped it out last Thursday. It has 4,782 miles on it. P.M me or e-mail me if you're interested. I had to use all the brake components Ect. on my new one, but the internals are all there.
