Well, 5 hours after getting my ride with just over 400 miles on it, I had to take my car back to the shop to check out why it was making a whining noise at 60 mph on a load. They kept my car for quite a few hours to diagnose what the problem was and said that they would either repair or replace the entire rear end. Well, Ford won't let them repair it, they want my rear end shipped back to the factory to find the cause of the problem. In 2 weeks, an entire rear axle assembly will be reinstalled on my car, and the old part shipped back to Ford. My dealer mentioned that it may be a preceder to a recall notice. It's a V6 Coupe made October 1, 2004. My mechanic said the car is fine to drive, it's just an annoyance. So to anyone who hears that whine under a load at about 60, make sure to tell your dealer about it.

Well, this is what they *told* me also (that it's just an annoyance). Hopefully when my car goes back to the shop in two weeks I'll be able to find out more, and I'll also be sure to ask them if I can ever find out what happened with it.

Also... Another thing was a power steering hose clamp had come loose and the car was leaking power steering fluid on the garage floor.
