I searched this and found someone was asking the same question with no answer.
Does anyone make the brackets for the rear brake upgrade? I know Steeda, Powerslot, Ford & Baer all have kits with a bracket and some rotors. it seems that someone would make a kit that is just brackets (In case you have your own Rotors).
Has anyone made these brackets? Has anyone tried? It does not look difficult but I am not a machinist. I mean the price of the other ones are pretty cheap (198.00) but that is with rotors, I wonder how much would the brackets themselves cost.
Just a question.

PS: What is the cost (Rough Guess) to change heads and cams on a 2000 GT? What would I need? Anyone knows someone that would give me a good price near Chicago?

I was quoted $1300-1$400 to swap heads. I paid $700 for the heads so I should have gotten a super charger.

Any help

What kind of brackets are you looking for exactly? What rotors do you have? You want to use the stock calipers?

The rear Cobra kit is only $175. The two brackets alone are nearly $100 each. I've often wondered if i could make more money buying the Cobra kit and then selling the rotors, axle brackets, anti-moans and dust shields on ebay separately.

Rear brackets

What I saw in the other kits were brackets and rotors for about $300. But that is for two brackets and two rotors. The brackets look pretty simple so I though that if they are selling the kit with the rotors maybe someone sells the kit with just the brackets so we can put larger brakes on the rear. Just a thought.

That's the bear 13.25" +1 rear kit.

You still haven't said what rotors you already have. How else would we know what brackets you can use

Hey all,

I don't have any rear rotors yet. I have front drilled rotors being shipped today.
I wanted to order Front & Rear and these are from a company online. They are the stock 99-04 Cobra replacement size except drilled. I read in an earlier post that if you get the 13+ size it may affect the parking brake. I park on inclines often and do not want a size that would ruin my parking brake's effectiveness. I saw in one of the Ford kits that disk are not included so you would have to buy your own disk. I thought that maybe someone may have tried to succeeded in fabing a bracket like the one used in the kits mentioned in the above post so that people could put the factory cobra sized rotors on the back of their cars drilled/Slotted/Stock.
I have seen people fab spacer units for the upper plenum years ago, and was just was wondering if anyone had tried this yet. Maybe someone knows where to get a hold of just the brackets or a kit (other than Ford) with just the brackets like the Steeda kit (without rotors) ,where you have to supply the rotors.
This kit would be cheaper & because the Power Slot/Baer/steeda kits come with disk that may not be the same type a car owner is using.
I saw a post on here earlier when searching this topic the guy had the Steeda upgrade kit on the rear and with slotted disk and a regular smooth vented disk in the front. It looked a bit strange and a couple of people even posted that he should have ordered slotted disk up front too. Since i already know what kind of disk I want and I had the chance to buy them in a package I thought that maybe someone noticed that a similar problem could occur. I ordered drilled front rotors until I could afford the Ford kit w/o the rotors or in case someone had a solution.

as stated earlier
any help thanks

There isn't a Ford rear kit without the rotors.

Basically what you want to do is buy the Ford 2300M rear Cobra kit for $175 and sell the rotors (can prob get $100 for them). The remaining brackets, anti-moans and dust sheilds will cost you well over $150 separately.

The brackets separate I beleive are $75 each from Ford. That's why the kit with rotors is just the way to go. It's what I did. I have Cobra brakes on my Fox and use crossdrilled bling-bling rotors I purchases elsewhere. However, when i go autocrossing and have to abuse the brakes, i swap the bling bling stuff out for the stock solid plain rotors.
