What do you guys have I was thinking the 11.65 cobra rotors with hardware.

Are the calipers the same as the GT ones or do I have to get the cobra calipers?

What about just slotted rotors with new pads and rebuild my calipers?

Any other options? Really need some rear brake guys?

The rear cobra brakes are different that GT's. Can't use GT calipers with them, they are bigger rotors. Cobra brackets are also different.

I just used my stock GT calipers with slotted/cross drilled rotors. It good for me.

I figured that was the case with the cobra brakes but it was worth asking. Plus I think mine might be in pretty bad shape

The calipers are 100% identical. The caliper brackets are 99% identical - you may need to file the brackets slightly to make sure there's enough rotor clearance. What spaces the caliper out far enough for the larger rotor is the caliper mounting bracket on the axle. It's bigger (obviously) to push the rotor out far enough. The anti-moan bracket is also bigger.

Supposedly you can buy an adapter for the GT/V6 caliper bracket so you can put on Cobra rotors. Only place I've seen it is at V6 Mustang Stuff, it's supposedly a Ford part - F4ZZ2B511B.

I'm with Urban. I think the rear calipers are all the same. My Chilton manual shows the rear caliper as the same. Also, I have seen other postings where this is noted.

It good to know thats I can use that. But I think I found a set of 12" SSBC rears that match my SSBC fronts so I think I am going to go that route. But I am going to keep the rear calipers I have to put on a fox we are going to convert to disc and am going to try to use the cobra rotors

It's easy to pull the axles, really. The worst part is dealing with the gear oil, it stinks to high heaven.

If you are sticking with the stock calipers you can do the baer 13" rotor kit in the rear. It uses an adapter plate to move the caliper out further (no need to pull the axles.) Its really not that hard to pull the axles though, just make sure you remove the ABS sensors, so you can pull the C-clips. I have the entire 10th anniversary cobra kit upgraded to ss brake lines and drilled and slotted rotors. If you are doing the SSBC brakes I have no clue. good luck

Do the ford racing kit and your calipers. I did on my 94 Gt and they work great. Took me one and half hours to install front and rear ....

The Baer 13"rear is like $300 and you reuse your calipers and bracket, I just put a Alcon 13"kit on and it had a Cobra bracket that connects the left and right side of the bracket that holds the caliper, Just like a Cobra front bracket. You reuse your stock caliper.

I would put on a 13" kit...after you do it, anything else looks way to small.

i actually think the 13 rotor on the rear looks weird...i dont know maybe its just me....i found the SSBC ones for $400 and they are 12 inch rotors . I already got the SSBC 13 inch force 10 caliper set up front....they look massive. I actually had to space out the front rims half an inch.
