Rear caliper question

On my wife's 2006 GT I have already changed the drivers side rear caliper and tomorrow I am changing the passenger side. Is this a common problem on these cars? I saw a TSB for a sticking E-Brake cable. Could this be the problem?

If the ebrake cable is the problem y are you replacing the caliper and not replacing the cable? I never looked into this TSB.

What were they doing that made you have to change them? I have never heard of anyone else having to replace them.

The piston inside them is freezing up.

The sticky parking brake cable could have caused the problem if the brake stuck and she drove for a while and cooked the rear calipers. Were the rubber boots around the piston cooked or do they look ok?
