I just recently bought a '95 gt and for whatever reason the guy has a rear defrost delete???? If i buy the rear defrost switch kit can i just plug it back in and be ready to go??? I popped the panel off before and there seems to still be a wiring harness in there. Thanks

i dunno, i'm giving the guy the benefit of the doubt

do all cars come with the wiring?
is it possible when he changed top/window he went with a defroster window maybe with the intent of adding it?

My car was the same way. It has a delete for the switch, yet has the rear defrost window. The guy I bought the car from replaced the window, and I just thought he may have been a dumb*** for installing the more expensive window when he didn't have too. So, I'll give him half credit, 'cause he still didn't need to spend the extra dough on that window. He may have replaced it with that one 'cause he had one in there to begin with.

So i should be able to just by the switch for $50 bucks and be good to go?
And yes, i have the stripes and i have no idea why he would have put a delete in it???!!! But if the rear defrost is right by the headlight switch on the 95's then yes, there is definitely just a delete cover over it that pops out and looks like some sort of wiring harness in there.

I have the harness, but no rear defrost on the car.... so the harness is standard equipment. I doubt he HAD it then deleted it as silly little plate cover would probably be damn expensive. I've voting for him putting a different rear glass in it. It may be cheaper with the defrost wires on it like the weird fact that the stock serpentine belt is cheaper if you have A/C then if you don't. It's longer but cheaper to buy due to the quantity they make.

So i can buy the switch and it should work then? I'll tell you what, something is wierd with the guy that had it, i mean there was just a cluster**** of wires when i got the thing i had to sort threw and re-route to make it all look decent under the hood and inside the car as well so i dont know what's going on.
