Electrical rear defrost relay... ???

i have my 89 gt florida car that i put a defrost hatch glass in it, the switch was there as the wiring in the hatch so every thing plugged in, my dilemma is still no defrost, i understand there is a relay that controls the defrost but dont know where it is located... can any you guys help a dude out, maybe with pics... thanks guys... steve

Under the dash about 6” to the left of the hood popper. Yours is likely empty so you’ll need the relay.




A single large gray wire runs from the relay down the drivers kick panel and along the door sill. It’s all alone in its own harness until it reaches the drivers side quarter area and then it plugs into the hatch harness. You might want to make sure this wire is present.

Gray/yellow stripe wire runs solo down the drivers sill. You’ll want to confirm it’s actually there



It plugs into the drivers side kick panel into this plug. I’m assuming the other wires that aren’t connected to anything are for convertible top operation.

i will give that a look, and of course at first look, it looks confusing... i hate dealing with wiring stuff... thanks mike
