Hey guys, My cover's leaking a bit, so I was gonna order me up a cool one. I've heard some people have issues with them hitting the floor pan? How easy is the install, do I have to worry about screwing up my gears? It looks easy enough to me, I just don't want to have my gears redone if that's even an issue.

Also interested. I have been looking at getting one. The SVO piece looks good to me.

I have the Mac Performance Parts rearend girdle. Got on ebay for like $117 and installed it when I did my 3.73 gear swap . The instructions are straight forward and it is a breeze to install. No clearence issues on a stock height car. It didn't look like it would hit with even a 2" drop. Clears the sway bar easily. Go for it

you will have plenty of clearance unless you have stock suspension with lowering springs like me and your car hooks in second gear and squats so bad it hits the spare tire well, i wondered what the big bang was ? well problem wil be fixed as soon as i get my control arms on .

Don't be so sure of that. Mine still does it with the drag springs and UPR Upper and lowers.

that was on et-streets, i only had them on for a little while at the track .and the lowers i'm putting on change the instant center which will plant the tires and won't let it squat as bad , i hope

Here is the link to my thread about it. ouch

The girdle was installed after the drag suspension. First time at the track I heard a loud THUD in all three gears. Weeks later as I was detailing the interior of the car I noticed a nice dent in the spare tire well.

I have the MAC piece and it put a "T" shapped dent in the front of my spare tire well. My car is lowered about 1.5" with Steeda Super Sports and has the Bullitt shocks/struts. I also have Megabite Jr lower/upper control arms with the lowers set on the lower (135%) setting and run 26x11.5 Hoosier Quick Time Pro's. I've never heard it hit at the track, but I have while driving around town and going over bumps especially if someone's in the back seat.

If it's going to hit -- don't worry, it's self clearancing. After a couple times you'll be fine.

Pice of cake to install, basically if you can change the fluid you can pop one of these on.

Back on topic.

As long as you clean the differentail housing very well so the RTV or gasket seats well, you will have no problems. I can't remember the torque specs, but I saw them listed in the haynes manual.

Don't forget to add the friction modifier!
