I work replced gears in a nissan 300zx twin turbo, toyota 4x4 solid axel, and a bunch of chevrolets over the past 15 years and never run into this..I pulled the inspection plate off a buddys 03 stang 5-speed and the carrier has some type of clip that appears to be holding the C-Clips in place..How do you remove it,,other that prying it out....or grinding it out..i cant get the c clips of the axel to remove the axels............any sugg...And i dont want to hear take it ot the shop..i have set up a bunch of gears with micrometers and prussen blue and had no preb so please let me know what this is

thanks ahead:bang:

There should be a small bolt holding the carrier pin in place. Remove that bolt and then slide out the pin. From there you will need to remove the abs sensor from the end of the axle housing (just hang it up somewhere) and then you should be able to push the axle inwards allowing the clips to be removed.
