Hi, I have a 91 hatchback and the plastic that goes around the striker is wore out. At first I could just turn it until the bad part was on the top and bottom instead of the sides and it would close just fine.
Anyone know where to get a new one or what works good as a replacement?
looks like just a piece of plastic pipe.

You posted the door striker which is a larger dimension than the hatch striker.

Go to auto zone are any other major auto parts store and ask for the Dorman
striker bolt bushing kit part # 38424 and it will have the hatch striker in it.

Striker

I bought a metal replacement from a guy in ebay who makes them. Works great. With that said, you have to remove the washer from the striker to install it. He sends directions on how to do this. I put the striker in the vise and hit it with a hammer I think. It wasn't just plug and play, but it works great.

As said, autozone does sell replacement bushings for the hatch, and new strikers for the doors

I do the same and just put black electrical tape every now and then. It also works fine for a while!

What works better than electrical tape is rubber fuel line, just slit it, put it on and secure it tight with tiny plastic ties, one on each end, done for good. I believe its the 5/16" inside diameter rubber fuel line.
