OK I was told that I needed to fix this as this is where my leak is at...

My question is since my car has 136K on it is there anything i should upgrade at the same time to save on in labor since they will be replacing the rear main seal? sort of kill two birds with one stone or is this a only thing there fix

Mine is leaking right now also, but I am not going to get in a huge hurry to fix it right away. A LOT of Mustangs get leaky rear mains, so its not uncommon, and as long as its addressed sometime in the future, you'll be fine. My car is put away for winter right now, and I have plans of fixing it next year when I will hopefully have a PI or Edge stall to install and most likely do a tranny build up while I have it out. It looks like you have a aftermarket clutch already installed, but if it has a lot of miles and/or is starting to slip, there is no better time to replace it since you will have the tranny down and all.

One thing, if not mentioned. Often a clogged or inadqueate PCV system will create a RMS leak. Folks have replaced the seal only to find that the leak returns. When the PCV system is clogged, pressure finds the next source of least resistance, which is often the crank seals. I would ENSURE you dont have a PCV bottleneck first.

Also valve covers gaskets have a thing for leaking in the back and dripping in such a way to make the leak appear to be a RMS.

You probably considered all this, but just in case.......

Good luck.

Good point JT.

Personally, if you do find that your RMS is the cause, I would replace the pp/clutch/TOB, plus the pilot bearing, change out your ATF in the trans, and even the gear oil + friction modifier while you have it jacked up, if you haven't done it.

An inspection mirror is a really great way to get a better look at the back of the engine......Make sure you have a really at least a 4" mirror, that's very clean. If you find oil sludge, you should clean it up really well, and run the motor some more and see if you can isolate the leak 100%
