no sealant required. just put it in and make sure its seated properly and that there isnt a groove on the crank where the old one was riding

If your careful removing the old seal, it makes a great tool for tapping the new seal in place.

You shouldn't need anything to tap the new seal in. I Would recommend putting some ultra black rtv sealant on the outside of the rear mail seal to help it slide on easier and a light coat of oil on the inside of it and on the crank. Thank take the seal and get the bottom to catch first, than push the seal up as to collapse the seal on the bottom a little to give it enough space to seat all the way around the crank. From here just push it in with your fingers until it is flush with the block and your all set.

All of this should be done with your hands without the use of hammers, punches, installation tools, etc. Try it once dry before using rtv to make sure you can do it than pull it off, put everything on it, and you'll be a pro at it.

The instructions dont call for any sealant, I just used it to "help" the seal, seal and to resist any rotational forces better.
