The rear spoiler on my GT has blotches I did notice another mustang the other day with the same blotches/discoloration patches.

2 Questions

Is this a factory screw up with sealing the aluminum?

Has anyone removed these blotches?

If we are talking about the same kind of discoloration in the paint, then I would suggest a clay bar. Ive only had this happen on my black mustangs that Ive had.
This discolorations were caused from this crap that would fall off trees that I was parked nearby and it would sit there all day.

I had the same thing. They look like water spots, but they are deep, under the clearcoat. I tried to wetsand mine and polish it out, but that didnt work. I just went ahead and bought a Steeda spoiler so I didnt have to look at it anymore.

Did not use the claybar yet.
I am pursuing the rumour of the defective sealing of the aluminum on the spoiler.
I may have the spoiler painted black mach style if I do that I am not sure that a primer will stop the bleed out.

I've got black and have the exact same thing. I thought I read on here a while ago that the spoilers weren't painted very well or something to that extent.

same here

First I'd like to say hi cuz I'm new to the site. My mineral grey o2 GT has the same thing. It's driving me nuts. There has to be a prob from the factory if it's just the spoiler and it's not only my car.

Spoiler is not aluminum.

Wetsanding is not recommended unless you REALLY know what you are doing.

Try claybar or a mild rubbing compound.

I have an 02 pewter colored GT and have the same problem on spoiler> First thought it was water spots.Tired clay bar, polishing paste, wax, etc. no luck.Like some others said it seems tobe under the clear coat.I thought I was alone in having bad paint job on spoiler.
