Rear Springs

I would not advise cutting the springs. Why are you interested in only the rear springs? If you only lower the rear, it will throw off the balance of the car, not to mention it won't look right.

Over on the mustang source there was somebody that lowered only the rear...made it level and it will not throw the balance of the car off being level. As it sits now the rear is higher than the front. I like where the front sits the back is too high.

I dunno. I have a feeling that the spring manufacturers bundle a whole set of springs for a reason, they're designed to work with one another front and rear.

On the other hand, my goals for springs are performance and not visual (not that there's anything wrong with that) so I'd want to make sure that the balance was not upset, and that I was getting maxium handling out of the product.
 
My goals for them are both. I do road race a full blown corvette. This is my first car with coil springs and dontknow how to realy work with them. I was thinking of getting a coil-over setup but dont know who makes a good one. then I would be able to adjust each corner of the car to my liking. I will add a link about suspensions in a little that is very informative.

I just stumbled across a site selling a ground control setup using the stock shocks for $420.

I'm in another boat (re: rear coil vs leaf), i'm used to independent rear and upper and lower A arm suspension, so I'm doing alot of live axle and McPherson strut research now while I wait for the car!
