Rear Tower brace?

Anyone ever used a Rear strut tower brace? I was thinking of making my own
out of some steel i have laying around and i was wondering if anyone has any input on how much flex they take out of the chassis...is it even worth the effort if i have a 10 pnt. cage already?
Oh and one more ?. Anyone know advantages or disadvantages of running solid engine mounts on the street? What effects would that give me? Any shaking, rattling, Car rides harder over bumps? Anything?....

if you have a 10 point cage i doubt the rear tower brace will do a whole lot but it cant hurt.
for the solid motor mounts, i cant say for sure but i do have a torque link on my DD. its basically a solid link holding the engine down on the drivers side. i didnt notice any difference in ride quallity other then the engine seemed more responsive since my engine wasnt torquing over anymore
