Rear Wheel/Tire size and spacers

Hey
I currently have the cobra wheels 17x9 with 275/40/17 front and back. The front are pretty flush but the rear are recessed in a little bit. Would a 285 or 295 fit in the back on 17x9's to give it a more flush look (stick out more) with the quater panel? or would spacers be an easier solution? anyone have spacers on their stang?

i have the same tire size, i put MM 1/2" spacers on the rear and it looks a lot better. however in true Ford fashion, my diff is shifter about an inch to teh drivers side.

I put MM 1/2" spacers with my 315/30/18 rears...
I can't imagine the car without this setup now

I had 1.25 inch spacers with my 245's, I think the 1/2 inch is the way to go.

For 1/2, I don't believe so. However, keep in mind that most sanctioning bodies require longer studs if you plan on drag racing.

i had longer studs because i was changing out my axles.

1/2 inch you be ok.....if any longer then go for the ones on ebay......in that case you may have tio cut some of your old studs down...if you try to go for the bigger than 1/2 inch with the cheap ones...then your going to have to remove your axle to get the longer studs....(abs ring is in the way):SNSign:
