Not that they're the same bolt pattern, but 7.5-inch and 8.8-inch axles are interchangeable and will work with either gear set. The pumpkin in the rangers is offset by about 1" from center. The mustang is centered. The mustang uses the 4 link, Ranger leaf springs.
Unfortunately, only the gears and left axle (if you were doing a 5-lug conversion) are of any use.
