I just bought a 89lx with a 347 stroker with a 250 shot of NOS and it has 2.73 gears and im trying to figure out what would be a better gear set? Its a 5speed, slicks and skinnies, and full list of stuff

250 shot? Man I hope that isn't a stock block in that car.

373's for a 5 speed are nice and 410's for an AOD. +1 on the stock block. I don't think a stock block will hold up too long with a 250 shot

It really does depend on how often you drive it also. If you're like me who takes his car out maybe once every other week. 4.10's are no biggie, they are a rather steep gear though.

what size tire and shift RPM?

The steeper the gear the easier it will be to tune the motor on the sauce. What type of system are you running?

That s true BStevens. 4.10's on a track car or one that isn't driven far would be just fine with a 5spd.

Would 4.10's be to big on a street car with an AOD?

No, I have never had an AOD, but have heard those are the gear to go with for an AOD.

I have 3:55's with a g force t-5. They were in the car when I bought it. But wouldn't mind having 3:73's or 4:10's. I only drive mine a couple times a month..
