Rearend Noise?

Hey there....I did a search to find threads on this and i still can't seem to find the answer i am looking for. My GF just bought a 2000 GT 'vert 5 Speed. When taking a sharp corner (or driving in circles in a parking lot) left or right, we get a sort of moan/squeek consistant with the tire's RPM. After doing my homework, i figure its the TracLock (aka Posi Unit) that is no good. Is this something that is just going to make noise for the rest of the car's life, or is it eventually going to give us big problems? I am in a "catch 22" position. We bought the car used, and it has a warrenty (its not from a ford dealer, from a used car lot), but i dont' want the in-house mechanic at this dealer opening up the rearend. Its a very delicate thing to play with as most of you know, and i would much rather have a Ford tech (or a rearend specialist) do the work. What do i do?

You might try first changing the fluid and ensuring the Ford friction modifier (required by the diff) is put in.

The only big problem I'd see are a possible loss of the LSD function; a bad Traction-Lok might make noise and result in one-wheel-peels but I doubt it would stop you from getting where you're going.
