Eaton Posi makes a great differential, I have the 31 spline version with Moser Axles.

If you're going with slicks, step up to 31 splines ... you might be able to get away with it with aftermarket 28 spline axles for a while.

You obviously have a much longer life and strength with 31. If you're looking for all out strength but only if you never take corners go with a 33 spline spool setup with C Clip eliminators.

That gets rid of your ABS, so hopefully you never get into a situation where big brakes are needed.

Be sure to weld your torque boxes and axle tubes for reenforcement when using slicks as well as a driveshaft loop.

If you're going to be using Weld rims, you're going to need 3'' wheel studs with open ended lug nuts.

well the car is a daily driver and i rarely go to the track but when i do and want to do some hard launching i dont want to worry about breaking something and the car is N/A and i dont plan on any big power adder except maybe nitrous someday. so if i put the 28 spline locker in it should be fine since im not doing hard lauches that much. and also what rpm would be safe to launch at with slicks on the 28 spline.

With a good burnout on slicks you'll be able to (almost) drop the clutch from just under redline or with a 2 step limiter to get going.

But that's when you're going to want a STRONG setup (forget 28 spline) and probably a good transmission / clutch to handle the abuse.

There isn't much of a price difference between a 28 and 31 spline setup, and if you're going to be replacing parts it only makes sense to do it right the first time instead of breaking something at the track.

Head over and browse the www.modulardepot.com forums and check out some of the videos. A few people have snapped axles on slicks, 31 even.
