On my tire test drive tonight I noticed a vibration that only came on in high rpm high speed. It feels like when a wheel bearing is going bad or something. Do you think its the bearings in my rearend? Could it be the gears in my rear? I don't hear any clicking or poping or anything just feeling the vibration.

I've felt it before, with the old tires, but it seems to be getting worse I was thinking it maybe just general drive train vibrations through my poly transmission mount but it SEEMS to be getting more noticable.

P.S. have you tried your 275s yet?

You might want to check the uni-joint. Mine went, and took the mufflers with it. The Hell of it is, the Garage that had been working on the car previous, said it was a bent rim. Not saying it isthe joint for sure, just passing along experiences. :D

did you get 8s or the 9.5s?

On a 9.5 rim a 275 40 17 is 11.5 inches wide (bulge to bulge) which does not fit on the 65. So I got an 8 inch rim because the 275 40 17 is 10.2 inches wide (bulge to bulge) when mounted on one. It will still be very close on my driver side which has 10.5 inches between leaf and fneder and I am not in love with mounting them on smaller than recommended rim. I am gaining no foot print advantage over my 255, but the compound of the DR should afford me a little better traction than my standard street tire.

depending on the amount your rear is lowered is a factor here as well as the offset.Mine is lowered 1.5"+ and is rubbed every once in a while,we put my wheels on my buddies coupe lowered 1" and it didnt rub at all.But its good to see people actually trying it now instead of knocking it :nice:
