Those E6 heads are only worth anything as a boat anchor.

I would say that you need to stroke it out to a 331, good set of AFR heads or TFS twisted wedges, custom cam, etc. I can't really help you out with the carb situation since it has been YEARS since I have messed with a carb.

The E6's are worse than the stock '87-'95 E7's which are pretty much worthless.
If you want some cheaper aluminum heads Texas Hot Rods has Patriot 185's for $850.

Youre probably going to want to convert the motor to a HO motor with a roller cam.

347 or 331 stroker kit with 10.1 comp , AFR 185 heads, and keep the stealth and the dp holley they will work. If motor is flat tappet cammed run a Comp 31-254-4 if roller cammed run a Comp 282 Xtreme Energy or something close that should give you 400 wheel horsepower

There are way to many variables with similar combinations that give different power numbers.

You really need to get rid of the E6 heads if you want to make some power.

You can get 350hp out of a 302/306, at the motor.

It is probably going to cost more than you realize, and yes I would convert to the HO configuration as well!

Good Luck!

and roller cam ,

With you asking what 'pistons and rods', we just assumed you wanted to stroke the engine

How 'streetable' do you want the car? Is it a daily driver? Are you still running your air conditioning unit, power steering, etc?

350-370 hp is pretty attainable if you are willing to spend a little coin.

400 at the wheels is gonna cost alota money..... Isn't easy either.

On a 306ci engine I would go with a AFR 205 head, and a vic jr intake, and a big ass custom solid roller, but that is just the way I like to make HP

but then again, I have been wanting to make a h rev 302 for autocross also

Are you talking RWHP or FWHP when you say 350-400 hp?

Cause 400 RWHP on a 306 is gonna be costly and more than likely not very streetable. It will make power high in the RPM range and you'll have to wind it out. It can be done but we need to know more about what your plans are for the car.

400 302's cost coin and are not very drivable. The 302 in the Real Street car makes about 400 with a 180cc head extensively worked over and a cam that has 265/268 duration at .050 lift and is revved to the moon. That 400 horse mark could be more easily attained without the restrictions we have but expensive and short lived none the less.

This is a great place to shop at very resonable prices and good parts. My dad and I have bought stroker kits and miselanious parts from these people. I would check out there stroker kits and check out the heads they have up for sale.

A stroker kit is the way to go. Especially if your car is going to be street driven. Although it is fun revving your car to 3500 just to let your clutch out at a stoplight.
