Rebuild and a blower?

I was thinking about getting a new motor (331 Stroker), but it's just too much money. So, instead I'm thinking of having my 302 rebuilt w/ forged pistons and adding a blower... maybe a Novi 2000. What do you guys think... is this a good idea?

I see your building a 331. How much is your total build costing you, plus installation? The 331's I've been pricing are around 9k.

Finding an affordable small block isn't my problem... it's the additional price of heads, intake, cam, injectors, R&R, etc., etc., that I'm having a hard time affording. A nice long block alone costs over 5-6k.

with a rebuild and a a-trim you should make well over 300rwhp

If your going to rebuild, is it really that much more to just build the 331? You will wish you would have later if you dont. Just wait and save till you can do it right. I've had my car in part for over 3 years waiting and saving to get the right parts needed and i now have everything to finish it. It sucks waiting but its better to do it right then do it twice.

The 331's I've looked at cost 3 times more than a rebuild. I can rebuild and get the blower for thousands less.
