Well my 99 Gt is getting on in its years now, as it has 135k miles on it. I'm not having any problems with it yet, but I'm not sure how much longer the car will last and I should start saving and planning for when my car needs major work. I was wondering if it would be better to rebuild or do a full swap. I noticed that the mach 1 engines are going for fairly cheap and the swap doesn't seem overly complicated. On the other hand I could rebuild my current engine with a stroker kit or set it up for boost. In either case labor costs won't be a factor as I have access to a shop and some mechanic friends who will help me out. I was just wondering what any of you would do in my situation. Ideally I would swap in a lightning engine, but I don't feel like looking through a periscope when I drive.

I'm also considering swapping the auto for a 5spd, even though my trasmission was rebuilt at 90k.

At worst I should have about 5k to buy all the parts, but I could have as much as 10k. Thanks in advance for any input.

Go with a 4v motor. On Stangparts.com they are selling a 4v motor w/exhaust, clutch, trans, wiring, all for $6,000 dollars. The motor holds up to 450 RWHP alittle more. It all comes down to how much hp you want and what you are looking to run.

I know this isn't the right board to being saying this on, but I think 400rwhp is about where I want to be at, more might be a little excessive ::hides in shame::....unless it was with nitrous, so I could have more when I wanted it. But 400 is about ideal. Thank you for the quick response and the link.
