Rechrome or Not?

What are people's thoughts about rechroming small parts versus buying new ones? Does it make more sense to rechrome the exterior door handles, back up light housings, vent window metal, etc or to just buy brand new ones?

:opinion follows: the quality of the 'good' repop chrome trim pieces is good enough that I would not bother with rechroming.

In some cases the repops are better quality than the originals....Ford cut a lotta corners in the 1960s, just like today.

what i did was buy the door handles,back up light housing
and here is a list of the stuff i took to get Polished or cromed

1.vent window frames
2.bumpers front and back




and all the stainless steel parts i took to get polished.

Of have no idea how much chroming costs - how much did it cost you to chrome you bumpers and window vents? Thanks!

bumpers are about 160.00 for bouth
and the vent window frames cost about 125.00
but you have to take it apart yourself.

they made a mistake on my estimat and only charged me 60.00 for the
vent window.
