I read several car rags and in one they are working with a brookville body that has red oxide primer. I know very little about todays paint and I am wondering why they took great pains to remove it.
It is a new body so there would be no surprises.

Because its junk, its 30yr old technology, so many better products out there to choose from. Painting is like building a house and you dont build a house on a chitty foundation.

I understand the old tech, only paint I have any experience with is the old lacquer stuff that legends were made of, red oxide came after that. The brooksville body was new but was made several years ago. I can only guess that it is not compatible with todays materials.

I've been painting cars since 1996, so I don't have a lot of experience with it, but I have never seen anything good come from using it.
