Kind of brings back memories of Sadie. You probably noticed that I left the original floor above the frame rail. I did that for 2 reasons - I hate finding & drilling out spot welds and when I did the floor replacement in Sadie, one of the problems I ended up having was getting the floor pushed down far enough so that it was sitting on the frame rail. So this way, I didn't have to worry about that (the metal there wasn't that bad either.
You probably notice that there's extra welds on the toe board. That's because I was originally going to just replace the whole thing, but then I realized that if I did that, I'd be cutting out the back part of the torque box. I didn't want to do that so I stopped cutting and just replaced up to where the toeboard starts then filled in the cuts that I had made (I'm getting a lot better at welding, btw. Still gorilla welds, but they're slightly prettier gorillas).
Passenger side. Other than this one spot, the rest of the floor is pretty solid
Patch held in place with clicos (wedgelocks). I'd rather do butt welds, but if I have to do lap welds, these little things are pretty handy.
I should be able to get this welded tomorrow and hopefully get this and the driver's side stripped of paint and ready for POR15 on Saturday. Then I can get the carpet & seats put back on Sunday and I"ll have to drive it like that for about a week before I have enough days off in a row to be able to paint the dash & replace the dash panels.
