I getting ready to rebuild the engine bay including pulling the motor and radiator. My first thought was to take the radiator to a shop and have them do their thing while the motor was out. Or does it make more sense to just get a new one?

If you plan on anything more than a stock motor, it's a sure thing you're going to need a bigger than stock radiator. Bigger is the name of the game with radiators, so a small stock size with stock thickness isn't going to do it. Get atleast a nice 3 row brass or 2 row aluminum to save you some headaches down the road.
